Two mass shootings occurred within a short span of time. One occurring near the Texas Mexico border in El Paso where a man walked into a Walmart and opened fire on unsuspecting victims. Leaving 20 people dead and 26 others injured. The gunman, a 21 year old Patrick Crusius of Allen Texas. He is being charged with capital murder.
The other shooting in Dayton Ohio, where a man wearing full body armor, open fire on a popular night life area. Nine were killed and 26 injured. The shooter was killed by police and the name has not yet been released.
According to WHIO, the total mass shootings in the United States is 129 dead and more than 64 wounded this year.
WECU compared the tragedy of these shootings to the number of shootings to date in the city of Chicago. According to the Chicago Tribune, "293 people have been killed this year. That is 33 fewer than 2018."
