Mic Drop Drama: Media Spins Trump’s Sound Glitch into a 'Mess,' but the Crowd Says Otherwise

Opinion: Lynn Matthews

Last night at Trump's event in Detroit some unforeseen technical issues occurred where the soundboard suddenly stopped working, leaving Trump without a microphone for about twenty minutes.

Now, was it frustrating? Sure. Was it the huge ordeal the media is making it out to be? Absolutely not. I watched the whole thing live, and here’s what really happened:

Trump was off the mic for about 20 minutes, but once the glitch was fixed, he jumped right back in, even joking about not paying for the sound equipment. The crowd didn’t mind, and he handled it like a pro.

But leave it to the media to spin a small tech issue into a disaster. @MidasTouch on X claimed Trump was “waddling around” and called it a “total mess.” Another outlet said he “rambled incoherently.” If only they spent more time reporting on the actual issues and less on trying to sensationalize every small hiccup.

The truth? The crowd was still pumped, and Trump didn’t miss a beat. Just goes to show how things get twisted.

You can watch the entire event: And decide for yourself
