Vice President Harris has announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as her running mate for the upcoming November election, where she will challenge former President Trump. This choice has sparked significant concern among conservatives due to Walz's controversial record and leftist policies.
Socialist Tendencies and Questionable Associations
Walz has a history of signing legislation that aligns with socialist principles. He has provided state-funded health care, driver's licenses, and free college tuition for illegal immigrants. Furthermore, he has advocated for expanded government control in healthcare, which many conservatives view as a slippery slope toward socialism. During COVID-19, Walz implemented strict stay-at-home orders, enforced business closures, and issued mask and vaccine mandates, which many saw as government overreach infringing on personal freedoms.
His socialistic policies are trying to be disguised as being neighborly.
His associations are equally troubling. According to Laura Loomer, an Independent Journalist, "Walz has attended an Islamic center with affiliations to ISIS, where the Imam teaches Sharia law and has called for the murder of Jews. This connection raises serious questions about his judgment and affiliations."
Handling of the George Floyd Riots
Walz's leadership during the George Floyd riots has also come under fire. Minneapolis burned for days without intervention from the National Guard, showcasing a lack of decisive action and leadership during a critical moment. His response, or lack thereof, highlighted his inability to maintain law and order, a cornerstone of conservative values. The riots cost the city of Minneapolis over 500 million dollars in property damage.
Apparently during the Floyd riots, the governors daughter Hope who is no longer on the X platform had published information that would help the rioters. From the Independent Sentinel, "The Minnesota governor’s daughter, Hope Walz, tweeted out help to the rioters that she calls ‘protesters.’ She let them know they shouldn’t worry about the National Guard since they won’t be deployed that quickly.
Military Service Controversies
Critics, including some veterans, have accused Walz of embellishing his military career and abandoning his National Guard battalion. According to the New York Post, "Veterans have accused Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz of ‘embellishing’ his military career and abandoning his National Guard battalion, noting that the now-vice presidential pick for the Democrats never served in combat and retired from service ahead of his unit’s 2005 deployment to Iraq." Such actions are seen as dishonorable and raise questions about his integrity.
Col Rob Maness describes his military actions as cowardice.
Additional Concerns About Walz
Educational and Professional Background: While Walz's background as a high school teacher and coach might seem commendable, conservatives question whether this experience is sufficient preparation for national leadership.
Political Career: Walz served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019, representing Minnesota's 1st Congressional District. During this time, he focused on veterans' issues, agriculture, and education. However, his alignment with progressive policies often clashed with conservative values.
Public Health and Environmental Policies: Walz's strict lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating impact on the economy and small businesses. His push for renewable energy and climate policies, such as transitioning Minnesota to a clean energy economy, often disregards the economic implications for working-class Americans and benefits foreign interests like China.
Implications for the Future
Walz’s selection as Harris's running mate suggests a potential continuation of the radical left's agenda. His record reflects a preference for socialist policies, questionable affiliations, and an inability to handle crises effectively. This choice signals a move away from traditional American values and principles.
Conservatives must remain vigilant and informed about the implications of this election. The future of America’s leadership and direction hangs in the balance.
